The Telecom crew recorded the 2023 NNPS Summer Graduation Tuesday, August 1 at the Heritage High School Auditorium.

Graduating students from Denbigh, Heritage, Menchville, Warwick, and Woodside high schools received their diplomas and congratulations from school administrators.

The production went smoothly, with the Telecom crew producing the event as a multi-camera production. The crew used their ATEM switcher, which is a portable switcher. It enables them to do a multi-cam production with a small crew -- a good thing during summer months when it can be hard to find available crew members. In contrast, the staff uses the Remote TV Production truck for the early June graduations at the Hampton Coliseum.

The Telecom TV crew was made up of NNPS-TV staff, alumni of the NNPS Telecom program, and a current Telecom student.

Telecom Supervisor Ray Price served as producer, and Telecom Instructor Carl Daniels, Jr. and Telecom alumnus Brandon Hedgepeth were co-directors of the graduation production. NNPS-TV Broadcast Engineer Mansoor Ahmed handled the engineering duties.

Rounding out the crew were Telecom alumni and a current Telecom student. Alumni Collin Smalls, Joshua Stuck, and Muriel Gamble, as well as Ryan Hedgepeth of Woodside High School, were all camera operators.
