NNPS-TV keeps balance for wetlands video

NNPS-TV launches on Apple TV

Apple TV box/remoteIn mid-January, NNPS-TV finalized their Apple TV channel and launched it, their second OTT ("over the top" - using internet instead of cable) TV channel. The NNPS-TV Roku channel has been live for one year.

camera operators set upThe Telecom student production team set out to record and produce three high-school basketball games this season, going live on NNPS-TV (Cox Channel 47/Verizon FiOS Channel 17) and on YouTube when possible. The last regular-season game they are covering is Tuesday, February 6 - Gloucester vs Menchville. The plan is to go live, so tune in on TV or on the web!

Student news

Telecom logoThe TV-I students are working on PSAs and their version of "What's Newsz?," which is a news magazine show. They are writing scripts, recording and editing video, and creating graphics. They are also preparing for the SkillsUSA District 4 competition on February 28.

The TV-II students are working on a new show called "ON-AIR." The students went to local spots such as the James River and Lions Bridge, City Center, Port Warwick, and the Tech Center to get shots for the introduction. The students are also working on a show to earn their college credits in Directing. Students will serve as Producer and Director of the show. The TV-II students also will participate in the upcoming SkillsUSA district competition, though in some categories it is a statewide competition only.

Watch Sports Highlights on NNPS-TV (Cox 47/Verizon FiOS 17) on Mondays at 7 a.m., 2 p.m., and 7 p.m., and weekends at 9 a.m. Visit during the TV broadcast to see it online. You can also go to the NNPS-TV Roku or Apple TV channel, or the NNPS-TV Video site, to watch it on the live stream during the broadcast. For "on demand," go to the above YouTube link, the NNPS-TV Video site, or the NNPS-TV Roku or Apple TV channel.

The next School Board Meeting will be Tuesday, February 20 at 6:30 p.m. It will be broadcast live on NNPS-TV (Cox Channel 47/Verizon FiOS Channel 17 ), and it will be re-played at later dates. School Board meetings can also be seen on the live web stream of the channel during the live broadcast or the replays. Also watch on the NNPS-TV Roku or Apple TV channel's live stream during the live TV broadcast and the re-plays. Afterward, it can be viewed there on demand.
