It was a fancy affair indeed that the Telecom crew had the opportunity to record: Christopher Newport University's 50th Anniversary Gala, held September 18. The Freeman Center Field House was transformed into an elegant venue where dinner was served amidst distinguished hosts and talented entertainers.

 

/images/StudentFeatures/training_camp575.jpg Hurricane Irene may have caused a one-day delay, but Telecom students started their training the week before school in order to prepare for the first televised football game September 9.  

/images/StudentFeatures/grim_reaper575.jpg NNPS-TV's Telecom students combined forces with the Communications team from Woodside High to produce a DVD highlighting the powerful educational experience called "Every 15 Minutes." The national program revolves around a simulated tragic event: a fatal automobile accident caused by a student driving while impaired.  

/images/StudentFeatures/grad11_group575a.jpg NNPS Telecom students were hired hands for the June 9-12 weekend of Newport News high school graduations, and this year there was an extra ceremony to cover: Achievable Dream's at the Ferguson Center.  

NNPS Telecom students competed in the 47th Annual SkillsUSA Virginia State Leadership Conference and Skills Championships held at the Hampton Convention Center April 1-2.  

For the fourth year in a row, Telecom students video-recorded the Christopher Newport University graduation ceremony. Commencement exercises were held at POMOCO Stadium Sunday, May 15 at 10 a.m., and though the weather looked threatening in the morning, the rain held off for the outdoor ceremony.
