Video Production course for adults offered at Telecom Center

The Center for Apprenticeship & Adult Training at New Horizons Regional Education Center is offering "Introduction to Video Production" as one of its courses this Spring. The course will be held at the NNPS Telecommunications Center starting in January.

Course description:

INTRODUCTION TO VIDEO PRODUCTION – 72 Hours – $425

Center for Apprenticeship and Adult Training This class is designed to teach students the theory, history and basic to intermediate fundamentals in producing quality broadcast television. From pre-production to post-production, students will be engaged in learning how to properly write scripts and rundowns, and the proper use of video production equipment and non-linear editing systems. Video Production involves critical and analytical thinking skills to further students’ knowledge and abilities in preparation for entering the field of Communications.

There are no books required for this class.
Classes are held at: 4 Minton Dr. Newport News, VA, Next to Todd Stadium.

Center for Apprenticeship & Adult Training

The Center for Apprenticeship and Adult Training at New Horizons Regional Education Center has a 23-year history of providing quality technical training programs in preparing adults for employment in an ever-changing job market. We provide more than 120 courses that train over 2,000 adults annually. The Center has been recognized by the state for its training program and many of the courses are articulated with the community college system.

Apprenticeship Training: Authorized Apprenticeship Related Instruction provider for the Virginia Community College System and works closely with the Department Of Labor.

Adult and Community Training Programs: Designed to prepare individuals for the workforce or skills needed to fulfill personal interests.

Post 9/11, Montgomery GI Bill, MyCAA and Military TA: All Adullt Education Apprenticeship and Community classes are eligible for coverage. Please contact our Certifying Agent: Linda Logan 757-766-1101.

Youth Workforce Center: Provides job training, support and follow-up services to out-of- school low income youth (18-21) facing multiple barriers to employment. The Workforce Investment Board and Youth Council contract with New Horizons to provide these services.
